Lawson Miller

Bio picture.jpg

Lawson Miller is a lifelong advocate for Career and Technical Education, with a career spanning classroom instruction, higher education, and educational leadership. A former SkillsUSA–VICA state president and national champion, Lawson discovered the transformative power of CTE early in her high school years. Originally from South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!), she spent more than a decade at the secondary level teaching CTE Business and Marketing before transitioning into administration. Prior to moving to Colorado, she moonlighted as an adjunct instructor at the University of South Carolina and represented higher education on the South Carolina Business Education Association board.

Chasing mountains and new opportunities, Lawson relocated to Colorado, where she later served as President of the Colorado Business Education Association. She currently works as a CTE Administrator for Cherry Creek Schools and couldn’t make the vision happen without her dream team, the CCSD CTE Team.  She was recently accepted into CU’s doctoral program where she will pursue an EdD in Educational Equity and begin researching the effectiveness of contextualizing core curriculum in the CTE classroom.

Known for her love of fun, innovation, and a well-organized spreadsheet (though not necessarily in that order), Lawson enjoys adventuring and traveling with her husband, Phil, and their six-year-old son, Vincenzo.
